62. See all the movie's on AFI's top 100 list (15/123)

In case you've done the math, I would need to watch about 1 movie every 3 days in order to meet this goal.  Well luckily there are a few more I can cross off AFI's Top 100 movie list that I've already seen more times than I can keep track.  These my friends, are probably more the "classics" of our generation- the films most people my age know extremely well.

#6:  The Wizard of Oz
Born and raised in Kansas, it goes without saying that I'm well versed in this movie.  I remember this being one of the first (and only really) VHS Tapes we owned.  The Wizard of Oz was always a little scary growing up but everyone can relate to Dorothy and sing every song word-for-word.  If this was also a childhood movie for you I encourage you to watch it as an adult.  It's as enchanting as ever!  (Even if Wicked has changed the way we view L. Frank Baum's original storyline forever, hehe)

This was our awesome welcome mat Kelly had for our apartment when we first moved away from the Land of Oz!

#15:  Star Wars
I think everyone goes through a Star Wars phase in their life.  Oh, you mean they don't?  Errr.... me neither.  No way did I go with one of my best friends to see all the re-releases.  No way did I once share a screen name with my sister that used ObiWan.  No way do I think Han Solo is super dreamy.  No way do I wish I could have a pet Ewok.  (Okay, I think everyone can admit they agree with me on those last two.)

Awwww heya buddy!!!

Everyone also knows that these are classic films.  Here are a few other stats you might not know:
1) The Star Wars films are the third highest grossing film series, behind Harry Potter and James Bond.
2) The six films together were nominated for 25 Academy Awards, of which they won ten.  Three of these were Special Achievement Awards.
3) Luke Skywalker's name was originally written to be Luke Starkiller.
4)  The man who originally did the voice for Miss Piggy (Frank Oz) also did the voice for Yoda!

#25:  E.T. -  The Extra Terrestrial
Do you remember when you could go to Sears and get your picture taken with E.T. on a bike?

Sweet
I do!  Or maybe it was Universal Studios?  Regardless, it was cool.  I still love to watch this movie every Halloween and sometimes say "Ouch" like my favorite Extra-Terrestrial whenever I use a band-aid.

#60:  Raiders of the Lost Ark
"Oh Indy!"  I have such strong memories of renting Indiana Jones movies from J.M. Bauersfeld's and watching them with my family.  These movies are such a fun balance of action, comedy, romance, and adventure.  I love them so much.

I have also been on the Indiana Jones Amusement Park Ride where we narrowly missed being run over by the giant rock ball.
When the new "Crystal Skull" came out I was unimpressed with the gaudy special effects.... and then I re-watched Raiders of the Lost Ark.  I had forgotten about the crazy ghosts flying around that caused the awesome face melting.  Guess gaudy special effects come with Indiana Jones territory :)

#71:  Forrest Gump
Ah geez.  Where do I even start with this gem?  It came on TV one night when Mark and I were working around the apartment and about every 5 minutes we would stop and say, "Oh yeah- this part!  Watch!  This part is awesome."  Jenny, Bubba, Lieutenant Dan, Running... what a great movie.  Of course, we I was bawling like a baby at various points.
