45. Organize all of my school stuff (electronic)

Like most professionals, I have tons of precious information, documents, worksheets, powerpoints, and more hidden away on my computer.  I cannot even begin to quantify how many hours of hard work have gone into these electronic docs.

From So Stadium Status

The longer I stay in my chosen profession, the more materials I accumulate on my hard drive.  Some I reuse, some I edit/tweak, and some I'll never open again.  When I created this goal, I was worried about how I was going to know the difference between these and didn't want to waste more time sorting through everything.  That can end up taking more time than just re-making whatever I need... and is super frustrating.

Well after switching schools, curriculums, and computers at work I had to transfer a lot of data.  I had to do some quick folder set-ups and file-dumps before I lost access.  I didn't realize it at the time but this forced me to keep things somewhat organized.  I am quite surprised with how well I labeled things and sorted them into appropriate folders.  I usually can find what I need rather efficiently- hooray!

How do you keep your computer organized?
