I might not have made it every time my fellow colleagues went out this year but I did squeeze in one last get-together. On the last day of school we were lucky enough to have our fellow teacher host a BBQ at her house!
Yes, you heard right- her house! The majority of New Jersey residents actually live in suburban areas where you have space and, more importantly, a back yard! I don't get to enjoy this delicacy living in the urban part of the area.
It was so relaxing to just sit on a patio, talk, relax, and eat yummy food fresh from the grill. I seriously miss that. Oh, of course there also was the 2 pounds of ziti which is apparently normal for the Jersey folk to have at cook-outs (oh the Italians :). I have some seriously funny co-workers and am sad that I'm just now getting to know some of them better.
I was sad I couldn't stay all night but I had to work the next day and had a decent drive back to my apartment. I left while flippy cup was starting to get competitive and the fire pit was being lit. It was the perfect start of "Summer"!
