Part of staying on track is to keep myself familiar with the different goals. I have a pretty good memory, but I can't always recite my 101-list by heart. I need some refreshers every now and then.
About a month ago, I reflected on the first 20 goals on the list. Now I get to take a look at the next bunch.
21. Go to the New Orleans Jazz Fest and/or Mardi Gras
This hopefully can combine with goal number 3, but I would love to participate in either one of these events! I'm eyeballing my 2012 calendar already...
22. Visit Greece with Pultz
Um...yeah...this goal seems crazy now. Don't get me wrong- I would go in a heartbeat if we had the opportunity. However, with all of the other travel plans I have on here, a recent trip to Antarctica and South America, and both of us working like crazy makes me think this probably isn't going to happen. Someday, though!
23. Host a dinner party
Dinner parties suddenly become more tricky when one of the hosts is a professional chef :) Expectations get a little out of hand when we really just want to host people for some casual eats. Also, it's nearly impossible to find a weekend night when Mark has enough time off where he'd be able to help. I don't mind preparing and cooking, but again, note those expectations. People might be disappointed to find out they have to settle for my crock-pot-creations!
24. Take a class through Hoboken's Community Opportunities
I was SO excited for this goal. I almost participated last Spring but just ended up putting it off. I kept checking on-line and anxiously awaiting the brochure that comes in the mail. They offer everything from hair-styling, to photography, to cooking, to karate, to languages, and more! However, I was very disappointed when this was posted:
"As you may have heard we have temporarily suspended our Adult Education/Evening School program as we study and investigate alternative means of offering the citizens evening education in an economically efficient manner."
Sad. Hopefully it will come back within the next 700 or so days.
25. Go to a K-State football game
It's so ironic that K-State is coming to NYC for their bowl game! That would have been an amazing experience to participate in and it would have completed this goal! Although I'm sad to miss it, my absence is for a pretty great reason. Plus, K-State games are best in the land of Manhattan, KS, Bill Snyder Family Stadium, and Aggieville. I have not been to a game since I graduated so I think next fall is my time!
26. Make a decision about Grad School
I have been doing a lot of research with this lately. I have even been speaking with some recruiters and participants, trying to really get an idea of what types of programs are out there. I found one that I am really excited about, but I'm not going to make any decisions yet. For some reason I feel a lot of pressure to go back to school and to do it right away. However, if I'm going to be making that kind of investment with time and money, I want to make sure it is exactly what I want.
27. Take the GRE
Well...if I stick to the grad program I'm taking interest in, I won't have to actually take the GRE. Easy out? Fine with me!
28. Research Careers and make a serious decisions about my job direction
Ugh. I think about this all the time. It's really overwhelming to me, so much that I go into shut down mode. There are some options out there and I'm keeping my foot in the door, but that's about all I want to say about that!
29. Visit Amanda in Chicago
I can't wait! I don't know when it will work but I am already looking forward to it!
30. Host a party for M&D
I need to put my head together with my planning partner but I think this will still be a "go" the summer after next.
31. Eat at Les Halles
Hopefully this will be coming this month :)
32. Eat at Le Bernadin
Great goal for the New Year!
33. Get a Tattoo
I know what I want and where I want it. I've wanted it for three years now. I'm ready!
34. Get a Puppy
I want! I want! I want! I can't. I can't. I can't. We just have to be patient and wait until the time is right. Otherwise it just wouldn't be fair to the little pooch.
35. Transfer all of my photos to electronic versions
Wow, this is a big task. I have no idea when I'll have time to tackle such a project. This one is definitely not going to be completed any time soon!
36. Write in my journal or blog at least once a week
I'm doing pretty well with this!! I believe I've kept this goal for 22 weeks. Granted that has not been 22 weeks in a row but I am pleased with my success so far.
37. Pray more often
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." -Philippians 4:6
38. Take better care of my face
Once school started I began to get lazy with my skin care routine. I need to re-focus on this goal.
39. Take better care of my teeth
No matter how much I try, I can' t keep up the habit of flossing. I guess I just need to try harder. However, my teeth are in great shape as I just returned from the dentist with a glowing report :)
40. Get a facial
I've been eyeing my daily Groupons to score a facial at an outrageously discounted price, but lately it's been focused on fitness and food...not spa services. I know that it will come eventually and I'll be able to get my face glowing and clean for a fraction of the regular price!
