41. Workout 3 days a week for 1 month straight (6/12)

So far the workout goal has been going well! I really, really, really hope I keep up this motivation because I don't want to stop once September hits. But I can't get ahead of myself... I need to focus on the piece that each individual workout fits. Then it really doesn't seem like such a difficult thing to fit into the day if you take it one at a time.

Week 2, Day 1
My mom and I continued the trend by waking up and hitting the gym together. I have always been someone who likes to workout alone, but my mom is the perfect partner! I woke up this Monday morning very tired (I had spent a long weekend at the lake with my girlfriends) and it would have been so nice to roll over and keep sleeping. However, with the motivation from each other we got in one of the longest and best workouts yet! We both really pushed ourselves.

Week 2, Day 2
We once again returned to the gym. We were both feeling a little sore from the day before but once again kept each other motivated. I was thrilled to find "What Not to Wear" was on television so that kept me entertained the entire time!

Week 2, Day 3
I am now without my gym buddy and without a gym! Luckily, today there was a break in the heat and it was absolutely beautiful outside. On days like today being outside and moving is a pleasure, not a chore. With the help of an app called "iTreadmill" I was able to get in a decent run by hitting the sidewalks of my neighborhood. This app tracks your time, average pace, steps taken (pedometer), calories burned, and distance. It's just like what the face of a treadmill would look like except it's on my iphone! It also syncs with the ipod component of the phone so you can customize your own playlist through the iTreadmill app. Furthermore, It saves each workout and does a bunch of graphs to track your progress.

  1. Great job! Who knew that phones could be a treadmill effect! I went up and down stairs one day and walked back and forth to a conference center and considered that a day of exercise! I know ,I know, that doesn't count. I need my workout buddy.

  2. Congrats on keeping it up! I'm always amazed at how much better I feel and sleep when I've been working out. Hope you're enjoying the benefits of exercise too!
