41. Workout 3 days a week for 1 month straight (9/12)

Whew, this was a close one.

As my schedule starts to return to normal and things get back to being busy, I'm reminded of why it is so difficult to make time to exercise. This week was good practice in keeping it a priority.

Week 3, Day 1
The heat of summer returned to our city but I still took to the streets of my neighborhood. Since the town is known as the "mile square" it is roughly a mile long by a mile wide. These approximations and grid layout of the streets work well for keeping track of distances and pacing.

Week 3, Day 2
I basically repeated the day before except I took a different street. I love the little places I discover when I venture off of my usual routes. Plus, it gives me a chance to marvel at some of the beautiful homes and buildings uptown. These buildings are owned by one family, as opposed to being split into 16 tiny apartments like what I'm used to living in :) It may make me creepy, but I especially love when their big windows are open and I can peek in at the amazing decor and room layouts. I can dare to dream!

Week 3, Day 3
It was the last technical day in the week so I had to squeeze a workout in this day. Unfortunately, it had been raining all morning and was forecasted to rain all afternoon and night. I watched out the window until it seemed as if it had tapered off slightly. I was fine with sprinkles and thought it might even be refreshing. Well, the sprinkles lasted only about 5 minutes and then I was right in the middle of the storm. Since I was instantly soaked by the downpour, I figured it was pointless to turn back. I mean, it wasn't as if I could manage to get "less wet" than I already was. I just stayed out and enjoyed the rain!

  1. Congrats on finishing another week! I love your comment about "well I can't get less wet!" Made me think of the 5 Buro Bike Ride and I was just telling a friend about our adventure. Fun times!
