13.1

Guess what?  I ran a half marathon!

Picking up my race bib and packet before the big day.... wondering if this is really going to happen!

I realize that this goal is not on the list and I really try to keep only to those topics... but I think this fits in perfectly.  2 years ago I did my first 5k (3.1 miles) and didn't even know if I could make it the entire time without walking. Now I finished 13.1 miles without walking!

Unisphere at Flushing/Corona Park.  You'll recognize this fountain if you ever watch the US Open (Tennis)

I had flirted with the idea in my head after viewing Hal Higdon's Training Plan and realized that I was already able to do the first few weeks outlined in the regimen.  Then some co-workers from school were signing up (including my Principal) and you know that I struggle to say no to anything involved with work!  Kidding aside- it definitely helped being held accountable to outsiders- including your boss.

If anyone out there is contemplating a goal like this- DO IT!  I am proof that it's possible.
