93. Invite J.S. to do something

This past Saturday, my girlfriends and I were planning on spending a day in Central Park. We were trying to make it an actual "Field Day" so we wanted to recruit a big group in order to have enough people to play the games. I was thinking of who to invite and it was the perfect opportunity to reach out to J.S.! We conversed back and forth and were both excited to meet up.

Well, plans changed when we found out that the USA would be advancing in the World Cup. I was a little disappointed because I thought all plans with all friends would dissolve completely. However, we chatted and decided we would meet to watch the game instead.

It was quite an ordeal figuring out where to meet, how early to arrive, etc. Places in the City have literally been filled to capacity three hours before the games start! Luckily, I was able to convince my girlfriends to come over our way (J.S. and I live in the same city) and we all met up in our neighborhood to watch the game.

It was so fun! I was glad that everyone made it out and that we could all squeeze into one booth to cheer on U-S-A. I can't claim to be the most knowledgeable soccer fan, but it is a lot more fun to watch it with a rowdy group of fans than by yourself at home. (See video below for proof!)

Here is a little video of when Landon Donovan made the penalty kick!

On one hand it was sad because we did not win the game and we lost to Ghana in extra time. On the other hand it is good because I was able to complete another item, spend fun time with friends, and take another step forward in a new friendship!
